Man Struck and Killed by Train Wednesday in Delano

JUNE 11, 2009 - A 45-year-old man was struck and killed by a train, authorities said. The incident occurred shortly before 9 a.m. near High Street, police said. Witnesses reported the man was seen sitting on the tracks and then stumbling around before he was struck. This was the second pedestrian killed by a train in Delano in the past six months. Delano was also the site of a collision between a freight train and a car that claimed the lives of four young brothers in 1990.
