JUNE 18, 2009 - A tractor-trailer crashed into the center divider on the westbound 91 (Riverside) Freeway, causing a multi-vehicle crash that injured at least one person, authorities said. The big rig with the Ralph’s grocery store insignia on its side slammed into the center divider just east of the 241 toll road about 8:30 a.m., spilling as much as 100 gallons of diesel fuel and closing several lanes in both directions, according to the California Highway Patrol. The cab went over the center divider wall and came to rest in the No. 1 lane of the eastbound toll road. A van overturned in the accident, and three tow trucks were called to the scene to remove other wreckage, according to the CHP, though the number of vehicles involved was unclear. The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
