Nine Injured Wednesday Night in Two-Car Collision in Los Angeles

JUNE 18, 2009 - Two vehicles collided at an intersection in the densely populated Westlake neighborhood, leaving nine people injured, including two pedestrians, authorities said. The accident occurred about 10 p.m. in the 600 block of South Rampart Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. A car broadsided a station wagon, causing it to spin out and slam into a fence and then a post. The car’s momentum then carried it into two people who were walking on the sidewalk. Of the injured, six were women and three were men. Five were transported to local hospitals with moderate injuries and four with minor injuries. The LAPD’s Traffic Division is investigating the cause of the crash.
