JUNE 23, 2009 - The Food and Drug Administration are warning consumers not to eat pistachios that were packaged and distributed at an Orange County plant, authorities said. The FDA said the pistachios may be contaminated with salmonella. The possible contamination was found after the FDA visited the Anaheim plant as part of a follow up on a recall of pistachios from a grower in Terra Bella, Calif. The pistachios were distributed to retail locations in airports and hotels nationwide under the California Prime Produce and Orange County Orchards brands, the FDA said.
