JULY 13, 2009 - The California Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed a 61-year-old man from El Salvador. Felix Marroquin was one of five passengers in a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that was traveling north on Interstate 15 near Cleghorn Road. The vehicle experienced a tire blowout about 7 p.m., causing the driver to lose control and veer off the freeway, according to the CHP. The truck overturned down a steep embankment and came to rest about 40 feet below. Marroquin was transported to Community Hospital of San Bernardino, where he was pronounced dead at 8:30 p.m., according to the San Bernardino County coroner’s office. The driver and remaining passengers were injured in the crash, but their conditions were unknown.
