AUGUST 17, 2009 - Five people were injured, including three critically, in a collision on Highway 74 halfway between Perris and Sun City, authorities said. The crash occurred about 7 p.m. on Hwy 74 at Mapes Road, according to a captain with the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department. The five victims, including two with minor injuries, were transported to local hospitals by ambulance, authorities said. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the traffic accident.
