AUGUST 26, 2009 - A woman who was trying to warn drivers of her disabled pickup truck was struck and killed as she stood on the 60 Freeway in Moreno Valley, authorities said. Shari Martinez, 27, of Riverside was involved in a minor traffic accident in eastbound lanes just past the Interstate 215 interchange about 3:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. Martinez exited her vehicle and was struck by a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by a 56-year-old man. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Riverside County Coroner. The driver of the pickup truck was not cited or arrested, authorities said. The CHP is continuing its investigation into the car accident.
