AUGUST 10, 2009 – A 25-year-old woman died when the personal watercraft she was driving collided with another vessel on Silverwood Lake, authorities said. Chanisar Dechakaisaya of Glendale was fatally injured shortly after 2 p.m. as she rode south toward the shoreline, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s office. She was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, where she died about an hour later, authorities said. Investigators said Dechakaisaya’s watercraft was struck on the right side by a 2000 Yamaha three-seater that was traveling east. California State Park Rangers based at Silverwood Lake are investigating the personal watercraft collision.

JULY 27, 2009 – A 48-year-old man was flown to a hospital after he was injured on Lake Nacimiento, authorities said. The man was riding a Jet Ski-type watercraft when he fell off near the Nacimiento Dam and was struck by another personal watercraft, according to Cal Fire. A California Highway Patrol helicopter transported the victim to Twin Cities Hospital in Templeton, where he was treated for serious head injuries, authorities said.
